San Antonio Military Medical Center (SAMMC) is seeking one full-time Academic Diagnostic Radiologist with Nuclear Medicine specialty training to provide professional radiology services in the Department of Radiology. Employment will be by personal services contract. Services are required for the period of 1 October 2016 to 30 September 2017, with options for four additional years of employment.

Contractors shall provide radiology services in all modalities, with a focus in nuclear medicine. Radiologist must be experienced in all areas of modern nuclear medicine to include PET-CT, SPECT-CT and therapeutic nuclear medicine. Prior experience with military medicine/healthcare is preferred. Academic experience teaching in both a radiology residency training program and a nuclear medicine residency/fellowship training program with proven ability to perform research is a plus. Contractor shall report to the Chief, Nuclear Medicine Services.

Applicants must be a medical doctor (MD) or doctor of osteopathy (DO) who at a minimum is board certified by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) or its equivalent. Applicant must have ABR certificate of additional qualification (CAQ) in Nuclear Radiology or be dual-certified by the ABR and American Board of Nuclear Medicine (ABNM). Must meet or exceed currently recognized national standards as established by the JC. Must have and maintain a valid unrestricted state license.
